I learned to crochet when I was a child. My aunt taught me how to make granny squares. I crocheted everything I could imagine. My best project was a crocheted turtle. Then as an adult, another aunt taught me to knit. I’ve been knitting for years and love it. But your crochet has inspired me to crochet again (the fabric and crochet quilt). I have once again fallen in love with crochet. Thank you so much for your inspiration! I would love to have the ACTUAL pattern your mother-in-law used. I am almost finished making one, ready to assemble with 36 squares. But I’m ready to make another one with the actual pattern.

Hi Barbara, thanks for stopping by. If you go to the quilt post and check the comments the people who supply the pattern have provided a link to it on their website (quite a number of times). Good luck! Jx

Wonderful and useful patterns and very generous of you to share them. I liked all of them but particularly liked the flower pillow and the cheeky monkey hat. I plan to make the flower pillow and when I have finished I will post a photo. Also the jar pin cushion topper is quite ingenious. I thought I knew all there was to know about pincushions but never thought of this excellent idea! It is true, one is never too old to learn. LOL. I recently showcased a variety of pin cushion ideas on my blog. May I direct people from my web page to “the green dragonfly” to view your wonderful patterns?
I am about sustainable living and that very much includes making and repairing things by hand.

hi Janette, your crochet tutorials are just fantastic! also love your kids craft ideas, your children must have a ball at home. Just wondering about the cotton yarn that you use for your crochet, do you know if it is available through the internet at all? it looks really lovely and not fuzzy like the cotton yarn that i have, the colours are brilliant. Love the dianthus top that you made, the colours look amazing. thanks so much for sharing.

Wow, what an amazing website… Your creations are amazing and inspiring. My mom taught me to crochet at an early age, but of course, I didn’t pay attention. Now that I’m older and with a 3 1/2 daughter, have started to get back to it. I consider my self a beginner since, I didn’t pay attention way back when… I will try to do the hair ties for my daughter. Being a fan of dragon flies, I love the name of your website…

I came across your blog when I saw someone share your Easter bunnies on Facebook. Your patterns are so pretty 🙂 I definitely plan on trying some of them. I noticed above one of the pictures you said people can have the patterns for their personal use. Does that mean you prefer people not sell what they make from your patterns?

Hi Janette
You have some lovely things on this site. I was wondering if I may sell anything I make. I will of course put labels crediting your patterns if I sell through any of our various markets around here, or link through if I sell through e-bay, Gumtree or maybe the Etsy shop I am trying to set up (trying being the operative word – having problems). I live in Australia in a little rural area. I am really looking forward to making the Rosy Posy Tea Cozy, Cheeky Monkey Hat and the Caity cat among others. So cute. Different too. Just what people look for. I don’t have a website of my own – wouldn’t know how to set one up

Just discovered your site and was amazed at all the things you offer. It is so sweet of you to offer your patterns for free as there are some people would not be able to make your wonderful items if they had to pay for each item, it leaves them with money to buy the yarn needed to make the items. It also encourges others to try more of your items. I am so glad I found you & will be following you. God bless.

Hi There, I love your work! I started a Crochet Free Patterns Directory! Come on over and add your free patterns links, if you have any you want to share or just take a look at others work! You only need to add your link so you will get all the credit! Just click on the submit pattern button on my directory site! Its in the beginning stages, but I know I can get it going with others contributing their patterns. I have been crocheting for years now and I have my other site Crochet Jewel which has many free patterns, but I wanted to start a directory for others to share on! I look forward to trying some of your lovely hair bands for my daughter.
