Knitted socks

Easy knitted socks

I’ve finished my socks 🙂

Im so happy with how they have turned out, the colors are beautiful and they are so soft, squishy and warm !Easy knitted socksIf you don’t knit, or haven’t in a long time, I’d recommend giving these socks a try. They are relatively easy once you get your head around how they come together, and using a short circular for the majority of the knitting is nothing short of a miracle tool. All your stitches are held together on one needle with two ends, which means less opportunity for dropped stitches.

As I mentioned in the last post, you can find the tutorial I used – which is really excellent – right here. Thanks Christine, I couldn’t have done it without you!

A fellow Sockalonger! Your socks look great, any plans for your next pair? I’ve knitted 2 pairs with Opal wool and have a growing sock yarn stash – it’s brilliant!

Oh I love them. Sock knitting is on my to do list! It’s spring here in the UK so feels like the wrong thing to be making but I may just need to get a head start ready for Autumn!!! Love the yarn too x

You should give it a go, it’s very addictive. There is a Facebook group that accompanies the sock tutorial from Winwick Mum. It’s called the Winwick Mum Sockalong. It’s a great bunch of (mostly) ladies who offer advice if you get stuck. We also share lots if pictures of our finished socks and yarn purchases. Jean

I am very, very impressed. They must feel like wooly heaven for the feet. I want to make some! I am making cotton fingerless gloves.

Lovely! I’m making my first ever pair of socks right now (crocheted – I have yet to learn to knit). They look wonderful. I have a feeling that hand-made socks are going to become regular gifts for Christmas around these parts 🙂 It’s so satisfying to make useful, beautiful things!

Hi Janette How clever you are. I have knitted socks before and did enjoy. Did you like it enough to knit a pair for your whole family? Enjoy your day off today. Kylie and Darren are coming to see us today and tonight we have our Quota Installation dinner, I hand the secretary reigns over! Yeah! Will talk soon Love you lots Nola

Wanted to do the green doily so hunted for the pattern and then I wanted to poke my eyes with a sharp stick. Who can see this pattern without playing games with the background. Who does this? Think of people with dyslexia.
