I thought I might give you an update on what I have been working on…
It’s a luscious crochet ripple blanket.
Made using a simple easy ripple technique, where you dc 5, 3dc in the next stitch, dc 5 then skip two stitches and repeat across. It really is a dream to crochet- not too much concentration required… which is good if you want to sneak in a little hooky when the kids are around, and even better when its late night hooky and you are too tired to think about what exactly you should be crocheting š
Ive made it using some yarn from my stash- you probably recognise that bright pink! The pale taupe has a bit of history; its a wool my mother started knitting a jersey for one of my brothers when we were children (and we are now all well into our thirties) which she frogged and gave to me recently.
The rose pink is a mohair blend so it is lovely and shaggy which adds a nice fuzzy element to the blanket. I really love the colour combination but I hope that when its finished its not too pink. I will probably edge it in the two browns and the pale pink to help that.
Im not yet sure how big it will be, most likely this will depend on how bored I get (Im not that great with projects that take a long time) but Im hoping that this will be alleviated by being a part of this one a day group over at Gingerbread Girl. As this is the first post I have made about my work, and as I have only completed 22 rows so far its likely to take me till next winter to get it done!
This afternoon Ive dug out a pile of fabric which I brought on sale at the end of last summer. I thought I might get started on a few spring sewing projects… well Im thinking about it anyway.
Ill be back in a day or two to share another little crochet project you might like to have a go at š
I hope you are having a great week! Janette xoxo
I love your ripple blanket. I am almost finished with a very similar project, although you colours are much nicer and neater than my jumble of colours.

It’s gorgeous! Still working on stitching Sophie’s granny square blanket together. Gosh… I’m not sure if I will ever finish it. Maybe this weekend. Wishing you a happy Friday. š

Your blanket is looking lovely, I like that there is some inherited wool with a story in there, it makes your project more special. I’m afraid I’m not good at ‘longterm’ either, and try not to get involved in things which are going to go into months.
Your fabric stash looks exciting, look forward to seeing your future posts!
