It was the Queen’s birthday weekend holiday today, and this afternoon we took a beautiful walk through the Hamilton gardens…
The air has a cold chill to it, but the sun is still lovely and warm. A holiday on a Monday is a perfect start to the week, if only every Monday could be spent this way 🙂
And, in other news, I finished Carter’s new socks. He’s rather pleased with them… but convincing him to sit still for long enough to take a photo – that took about a week!
I’ve cast on another pair already!
Thank you for the lovely reassuring comments in the last post. Maia arrived home from camp on Friday, safe and sound. She had a lovely time! But oh was I glad to have her home 🙂
How did your week start? Jxx
What a beautiful place! New Zealand and Australia are on my List of Places to Visit!
Carter’s socks look really cozy – no wonder he’s so pleased with them. What yarn did you use?
Best wishes

thanks Elanor, we are very lucky to live very close to these beautiful gardens. I never tire of walking there, the landscape is constantly changing. The socks are knitted with Nako boho 76943. Perfect shades of boy! Xx

Love the socks, and your photo’s are lovely. Here in South Africa (Cape Town ) it is pretty chilly, even though the dogs are all baking in the sun

So long as the sun is shining I don’t mind getting out in the cold, when it gets stormy and wet I will be sitting in front of my fire!

It’s going to be queens birthday weekend in Adelaide this weekend and although I am working on the Sunday I’m looking forward to having some peace come Monday. Your son’s socks look great, enjoy knitting smallish ones now. My two boys have enormous feet now they are Ol grown up but they are both still thoroughly knitworthy.

I was thinking about that as I was knitting these, they knitted up rather quickly but I doubt they’ll fit him next year! I hope they don’t end up too enormous!

We love the gardens – even the Screaming Teen is always more than happy to get there and look around. I personally love the Italian, English & Tudor blocks – your close ups are beautiful.

Yes the whole family enjoys it there. We fed the ducks which is also a nice treat for the kids. I hope they never tire of it!

Carter’s socks look beautiful sweetie! We are having hot record temps here and I am ready for cooler days! I don’t like it so hot! Year’s ago I suffered heat stroke and from then on have to be very careful in the heat! I love your fall pics! Hugz Lisa and Bear
