I managed to get some shots of my newly completed doily in the sun this morning…
I think it turned out well, the pattern is good (a few very minor mistakes, but obvious enough if you have been crocheting a while), I’d definitely still recommend it! It’s a free pattern (my favourite kind) and you can find it here.
I was particularly pleased with how the green contrasts with our rimu table and the lovely Cherise of this orchid which I have managed to coax into a second year of flowering…
I’m now working on some fingerless mitts for a Christmas present. What are you working on? Any nice doily patterns to recommend – I’d like make more 🙂 Jxx

Love that doily. Have you made it with 4ply cotton? A perfect foil for the rich colour of the orchid, so satisfying when they flower again for you isn’t it.

Hi, I used 2ply cotton and a 2mm hook. I’m amazed its flowered too, my other one has as well so must be doing something right! Jxx

Stunning! Looks perfect, I’m sure no one will notice if you made s mistake. I’ve just downloaded the pattern, or tried to. The blue pattern behind the text makes it had to read. Did you manage to print it off and read it without making your eyes goes funny! 😳

Just try Ctrl a to select the text, then Ctrl c to copy the selected text, and finally open a text editor (for example, notepad, wordpad, libreoffice writer or word) and Ctrl v to paste the text of the doily.

It’s beautiful! I love it in green. We used that pattern for one of our CALs on Threadies, a Facebook group for lovers of thread crochet. Doilies remind me of my grandmother. 🙂 I absolutely love your fresh take with the beautiful bright Kelly green! Love, love, love. I just finished a gigantic American flag blanket as an order and am looking to do some smaller, quicker crochet just for me now…Maybe I’ll dive into some doily making 🙂

I love the detailed pattern and your choice of colour! I’m making poppies at the moment to raise funds for the British legion . I have just finished a sparkly sequin bag in a bright magenta.

That modern looking green honours the old style pattern. I am wrestling with spinning tension (I will win) and also knitting hearts for Christmas and a crochet butterfly ami I am designing. LOVE the flower. ❤
