A review and a giveaway

Today I’m sharing a quick little project from a lovely crochet e-book I was asked to review…

Crochet flower brooch Its a wee crochet flower brooch, made using 3 ply cotton and the pattern can be found in an e-book by Natasja King called Crochet Pretty

Crochet flower broochThis is just one of 10 lovely accessory patterns in the book. I’m thinking the little drawstring bag from the cover will be next on my list because I have some cotton left over from the tangerine cardigan Ive just finished for Maia (more about that soon) and I’m sure she needs a little bag to go with it! If I hurry I might be able to get it finished in time for her birthday on Thursday! I also really love the earrings. To see all 10 patterns from the book over on Ravelry, just click here.img_6590The really neat thing about Crochet Pretty is that its interactive, so there are links to lots of helpful extra information and it even includes some instructional videos  and an interactive quiz! There are also clear step by step instructions, with beautiful photography. I love that because its an e-book its perfect for using on my ipad.

If you want to buy the Crochet Pretty iBook, you have to hop on over to

this page on iTunes. If you already have iBooks installed on your iPad, just go ahead and click on the link. Here’s a little video that gives you a sneak peek inside the book and some of the features:

Natasja has done a wonderful job putting this collection of patterns together, and I really recommend you check it out.

And without sounding  too much like an infomercial – But wait there’s more!

Natasja has kindly agreed to give a copy of the e-book to one lucky Green Dragonfly reader. So if you have an ipad (iphone or mac) and would like to enter please leave a comment below. Ill draw the lucky winner next Monday, December 22, 2105. And if you are quick, that should give you plenty of time to whip up a few extra Christmas presents in time for the big day!

crochet_pretty-coverGood luck and have a wonderful week!

The lovely Janette of The Green Dragonfly made the flowery brooch from my book, Crochet Pretty. It looks great! She is also giving a way a free copy of the book for iPad users.

Hello, this ibook looks nice and very colourful and very user friendly; I treated myself to my first ever iPad last year and I am so pleased with it. I love using it as it is always with me and so I find crocheting and my iPad go together very well indeed. Good luck for the book (and to me with a chance of winning it). 🙂

Oh Janet – you’ve done it again! Inspired me to try something new 🙂 I have just downloaded ITunes to my computer just in case I am fortunate enough to win the draw for a copy of this lovely book (The download was free too). I have learned so much from you and I thank you for inspiring and sharing with so many of us. I’d like to wish Maia a very happy birthday this Thursday as well as send my best wishes to you and your lovely family for a happy and healthy Christmas.
Again, thank you for all you do 🙂

Firstly Happy Birthday to Maia for Thursday! Secondly I enjoyed the instructional video. I haven’t really mastered ereading yet but know I can. (I can do anything) LOL!
Put me in the competition and now I am going back to Christmas mice. Why did my friend’s daughter have triplets? Everything for them has to be crocheted in triplicate. HaHaHa!!!

I’d LOVE this! and can’t wait to see the completed tangerine cardigan! the stitch pattern is so pretty!
I LOVE making accessories…it’s something ‘new’ for this recently advanced crocheter…who last year was doing nothing more than straight (well, sort of!) scarves and basic beanies to far more complex patterns….and just loving doing it! Would still like to make some earrings for Christmas gifts if I can!

It all looks so pretty – please put me into the hat as I’m sure there are a few people on my list that woukd like something made from the book.
Aren’t ebooks so handy? Always having patterns to hand and pieces of paper lying in the bottom of bags!
