We have extended the chicken family and now there are six pekin bantams…I’d like to introduce Myrtle, Sonny Bill, Cheepie, Blossom, Sun, Cloudy 🙂
This week I’ve been doing a bit of sewing, more pillowcases for the children (simply so I can get the Christmas ones off the beds!) 
Getting a sensible photo of Carter is almost impossible right now.
Yes they chose their own fabrics. I also made Maia’s headband, Im thinking of posting a tutorial for these shortly. 
And yesterday I whipped up one of these bags, love the pattern and tutorial… I can see myself making lots more of these.

Hi AMarie, I really hope they do, we seem to be overrun with the end of summer bugs (and its not even the end of summer yet- must be because the weather has been mild and not much rain). I guess its because the evenings are lighter so there seems to be more time in the day so Ive been able to sew for longer – I don’t really enjoy sewing at night (its to hard on my eyes – uh oh starting to sound Very Old!) xx J

Carter was very taken with the spider web fabric… he LOVES spiders right now- what a boy! Sewing is a different kind of gratification, when it goes well, I love it (mistakes and unpicking not so much), fingers crossed it keeps going well! xx J

The chickens are almost as sweet as the children! Love the reversible bag. Can you believe it? I am STILL making your mousies! All are gifts and I have 2 and 1 1/4 more to go. I have enjoyed making them so much. The young ones actually scream with delight over them. The eldest being 19. Then I plan to “get serious” and design some patterns for my store after a square I am making for a very interesting project. 🙂

Wow, you must have made more than me! The ones we have here are still getting lots of action though! I’m not really doing much crochet right now, a few circles and those hexagons I posted on FB the other night but mostly late at night just before bed so no new projects just yet! Cant wait to see your new patterns!! xx

Your chickens are gorgeous. Have you thought about crocheting sweaters for them if they are bald from molting when it gets cold there? I love your pillow cases, kerchief, and tote, too. Your children are beautiful, and I am enjoying your blog very much!

Great projects! I am crocheting up a storm here–making squares for a late present for a 12 year old boy: a Minecraft creeper blanket. Plus various other projects. Sewing is definitely on my list to learn this year, though, so thanks for the inspiration, :).

My son always wanted Bantam chickens, unfortunately it never happened. Yours are so cute. Love the pillowcases and your son is a stitch. 🙂
Now that Christmas is over I have pulled out my stash of projects I didn’t get to before time ran out. I have one panel of a set of curtains, fabric for cloth napkins, t-shrits I am converting to shopping bags, and even the occasional paint job such as painting a container to set out with baking soda to keep the air clean of kitchen odors. Also started painting part of my bathroom which is going to be remodeled in the next couple of months. Never dull around here. 🙂

Hi Lois, We’ve had either bantam or regular chickens for the past five years or so, but the bantams are my favourite… They don’t lay as regularly as big chickens but make up for it in cuteness!! Sounds like you have a lot of projects on the go, lots of fun! Xx
