Weekend wrap up and it’s finally finished!

I was hoping to share a new tutorial with you today but my computer has gone on the blink so that’s going to have to wait until I can get the disturbing noise its currently making sorted out (I really don’t want it to blow up, but it is 5+ years old – so I’m expecting the worst). I have to admit to being more than a little panicky about the 20,000 (this is no exaggeration!) photos I’ve got stored on there not being properly backed up. I’m interested to know, how do you store your photos?

So to improve my spirits – and I hope yours – here are a few photos from the weekend. The baptism went very well, Max was perfectly behaved, with not so much as a squawk… And my Dad really enjoyed his dinner out with the family too 🙂

While we were there we managed to get down to the beach…20130917-211340.jpg20130917-211422.jpg

The children really love playing with their cousins, and even though it was a bit windy, it was warm enough20130917-211802.jpg

I grew up on this beach, and I really miss the sea air, and the sand beneath my toes…20130917-211917.jpg

Maia’s not that keen on it though, funny girl! Too itchy, she says…20130917-212003.jpg

As I mentioned last week, I finally finished up my iPad case. I love it, mind you it’s so bright and cheerful it’s hard not to! I promise to post a ‘how to’, just as soon as I can. Until then, here are a few photos…20130917-212234.jpg20130917-212312.jpg20130917-212431.jpg

Hope your week is going well, I’m heading to Wellington tomorrow, I’ll try and post a pic or two on the GD Facebook page xo J.

I recently changed my computer too – it was nearly 8 years old, and the fan was acting up. I have all my photos backed up to two hard disks – one I keep here and the other disk is at my MIL’s house (in case of robbery or fire or whatever!). I do a back up of my documents and bookmarks once a month – perhaps I’m a bit paranoid but since I did my doctorate I have had a terrible fear of losing all that work, and we’ve all heard the horror stories!

Hello Janette – your photo’s look gorgeous – I also live in a coastal town and love the sand and the sea, even when it gets cold and blustery. I love your iPad case – the colours are gorgeous. I back my computer up on a hard drive – I don’t do it as often as I should – so I decided to back mine up today, after reading your blog! Hope you soon get your computer sorted out. Thanks for sharing – I love your blogs.

The iPod case is really pretty and cheerful. I have an external hard drive to backup my laptop. I don’t know what prices are like in NZ but here (UK) they are very reasonable for 500Gb or even a Tb. The one I bought is small and lives in my laptop case. Good luck with your laptop. I am lost without mine and today (while trying to buy our new home) my email provider has ‘technical problems’ – typical!! Lily. xxx

Great photographs of the sea and beach. I don’t back up my photos as often as I should. They are stored on an external drive so I hope that won’t break too soon as it is not as old as the computer but a while ago I did have enough to put on a DVD and that is the way I intend to back them up. Should see if it is time to do some more I suppose.

Hello! I’m pretty new to reading your blog, and to blogging in general! One way, other than a DVD, is shutterfly.com, you open a free account there, download all of your pictures to it, and then you can access all of them from any computer, it works great! If you’re interested, check out my blog, I’ve enjoyed reading yours!

I love the iPad case, sooo pretty! We use ‘Dropbox’ to store our pics, documents etc and it’s safe and won’t use space on your own computer x

Hi Janett,Oh Wow!!!Hope you can save your photo’s!!!! I just store mine in files on a few flash drives!!! That way they don’t take up any space on my laptop or make it slow!!! Love the kids at the beach and I also love the sand between my toes while breathing in the salty air!!! Perfect!!! Have a great week!!!
