I’m just stopping by to share a little mid-afternoon snacking with you. Do you ever get an overwhelming desire for a certain flavor? If this sounds familiar, you will totally understand this post.
This afternoon, in a brief 10 minute window of opportunity between finishing work and collecting children, I needed to have chocolate. And marmalade. Together…
In a flash of toasted inspiration, a star was born.It was a meltingly blissful match made in heaven.Every. Single. Mouthful.
That’s all I wanted to share. I fully appreciate that right at this moment some of you are reading this and screwing up your nose in distaste. For those that think this sounds lovely (and believe me it was) you’re welcome. But I think I may have to go for a run now. Jxx
Amazing idea! I’ll try it the next time i feel like i could kill for some chocolate 😛

I think that it’s a pity I’ve just eaten, ’cause that sounds delicious – it reminded me of a sandwich I was quite fond of when I was younger – toasted banana & chocolate spread.
I may have to dig out the sandwich maker 🙂

Ah no! My family is big enough… for now! Sometimes I just get cravings. Probably to do with all the rice crackers and salad Ive been eating lately 🙂

Chocolate spread and marmalade sandwiches were my childhood favourites. This version seems a bit more sophisticated…although I think I need to test that theory sooner rather than later 🙂 (PS: Marmalade on bread and cheese and raspberry jam on cream cheese are rather lovely combinations too!)

This is the adult version of that then! Those do sound good too!!

Sounds lovely but a bit rich for how I’m feeling today. Love orange with chocolate though and the bitterness of the marmalade should be great with the sweetness of the chocolate.

It was bitter dark chocolate too, so a little sweet but not too much. Very rich, very delicious! xx

When you have to have something you just have to go for it, not that it is combination I have ever tried but it did look delicious.

Gotta love those cravings! I get chcoolate cravings too. I’ve never tried chocolate with marmalade but I like to buy chocolate oranges at Christmas time (orange flavored chocolate in the shape of an orange, in case you don’t have them). Yours looks yummy too 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
Blessings 🙂

In a more summery/refreshing/light version, you can also try fromage frais (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fromage_frais cheese that comes in a strainer, a bit like cottage cheese, quark or ricotta) and jam/marmalade; that was our snack with my grandpa when I were little.
