Do you remember the lovely bookmark I received from Jane? Well I wanted to send her something small in return for her kind gesture (and because I love sending mail almost as much as receiving it).
So one evening I crocheted up a very simple cotton washcloth wash with her in mind. 
Because I wanted to wrap it up around a soap, I added a button and loop, and it became a simple, thoughtful, package all on its own.
I used this free pattern to make the washcloth, using two strands of 3ply cotton held together and a 4mm hook.
And because it was so easy, when it was done I made another one which I paired with another variety of my favourite eco soap.
But this time I’m not sure who it’s going to…. maybe it’s you?

The washcloth and soap set is a very clever idea. I have just sent a little gift to someone to say thank you for a beautiful painting she did for me. She was thrilled (it was a crochet jellyfish – she loves jellyfish) and I felt happy to have made it for her.

That is a lovely, thoughtful gift. I did the same thing in the past but would use ribbon to tie it up with and inside would place homemade mini muffins or cookies. They were a big hit! Have a great day. Tammy

I really like the unique shape over the traditional square. With such a large variety of shapes that nice soaps come in, this would would be a gift I could send all my friends and none of them would be the same! thanks for the great post.

These are so pretty and would make wonderful little one off gifts. I should definitely give them a go. We’re still great flannel users in my house (particularly the children) and its given me an idea to make some for our home…I’m imagining a pile of gorgeous colours right now…they’d be great in pastel shades of pinks, blues, lavender for example, tied in some gorgeous ribbon, for baby washcloths…..hmmm..off I go! xx

What a kind thing to do. I love post. It’s such a delight to receive a letter, you’ve got the initial wonder of seeing your name, then trying to remember if you ordered anything, checking the package over, do you rip it open or savour the moment, get a cuppa and then carefully open it, oooo the fun of the surprise inside. We really must send more letters. They bring such joy!
