:It’s the first week of the school holidays here and we’ve just spent the last week staying in Taupo… here are some holiday snaps:
:The ever impressive Huka Falls:: Paul taking a swim in the lake (there was a very good reason the only other swimmer in sight was a swan – it was a tad chilly for swimming)…::Wairakei Thermal park:
:Lots of steam::We were lucky with the weather, but it was still wet underfoot::But the children enjoyed themselves, tracking dragons through the steam::Random (but beautiful) lichen::Feeding some feathered friends::I loved this inquisitive peahen: :There were lots of peacocks (and hens) tame enough to feed out of your hand::This girl really loved a back scratch::We checked out all the parks in town::Enjoyed many coffees at the best cafe:
:And even managed a spot of crafting at the local museum – the children’s artwork on the wall was awesome::Train ride anyone?::We visited a prawn park, and learned all about freshwater prawns, I even hand fed some babies::Before we undertook a spot of fishing::And caught a few prawns for dinner::A very tall redwood, surrounded by ponga ferns::Not a real dinosaur 😉 ::Very real rainbow trout in a lovely clear spring::Happy holiday kids:It’s lovely to have had a holiday, but oh so good to be home! How’s your week been? Janette xxx
So so beautiful!!!!

Thanks for sharing your holiday photo’s Janette, they are lovely . My grand-daughter loved the peacock and the dinosaur! My brother-in-law lives in Christchurch and so I love looking at the scenery in NZ.
I know the feeling that it is always good to get back home – there’s no place like it!

What a terrific holiday- did the children find the dragon in the steam then? My week- chaotic- decorator is doing our sitting room and I can’t find anything anywhere, books all the way up the stairs- why do I need them all?

What fun. I haven’t been to a hot spring but the pics and reading about that type of geography has always fascinated me. The children are so very sweet. 🙂

Thank you for sharing your fun! I needed that! Good to know other people have spare time and not only enjoy working. My grandchildren are asking for me to take off for fun, but first I have to get my business Ps and Qs in a row. So glad you are blessed!
