Gosh what a brilliant surprise. I’ve never seen a yarn bombing before though I’ve been sorely tempted to try doing it myself… though there is no way I’d be able to do something as wonderful as that tree!
Wow! I’ve always wanted to see one in real life — sure wish it could be done where I live and not be considered a “crime”. I wonder how I might be able to go about doing it and legally?? Hhhmmm… now you’ve got me thinking!
Cassandra, one of the things I did as part of a group was yarnstorm the garden of a co-op. Because it was private property, we were able to get permission, and the customers loved it! We put together a proposal that included maintenance and a specific take-down date so that the co-op wouldn’t wind up with anything that looked grimy or more like trash than art. You can check out thefuzzhawaii.blogspot.com for more photos, and I can send you a copy of the proposal we used for the co-op if you email me at info@mkcarroll.com.
It looks so beautiful, I’m amazed how much time someone has put into some of those pieces! And they’ve chosen the ‘target’ so well too – that tree is wonderful.
Wow, that looks fab, what a nice addition to the park đŸ™‚
