Autumn afternoon walk

Its Good Friday today, which is a holiday in New Zealand (as I assume it is most places), so this afternoon we went for a family walk at the Taitua Arboretum

Its a gorgeous spot, and not too many people seem to visit there, although in saying that today was probably the busiest Ive ever seen it (no doubt to do with the fact that today is one of only two days a year when the shops are closed). The tree’s are just starting to change colour and I have to say I’m waiting with anticipation for autumn to get into full swing just to enjoy the leaves. The children had a lovely time running and playing, there were plenty of ducks, swans and chickens to feed too… It took their minds off Easter eggs for a couple of hours anyway!

I hope your Easter countdown is as enjoyable as mine… J
