Yesterday a lovely neighbor gave us the most amazing gift…
Lovingly collected over years of her own children and grandchildren, who have now outgrown the desire to dress up.
…and what adventures this suitcase will inspire.
An amazing collection, not just of clothes fit for a king, or queen, knight or bride; but hats, belts, hand bags, fans, scarves and gloves!
And a beautiful little case, full of… jewels!
Maia and Carter were nearly beside themselves with excitement! But oh… to admire ourselves in the mirror…
That is, I think you’ll agree, the best part!
I hope your week has some fun filled adventures (or at least a little admiring yourself in the mirror) 😉
Cute 🙂 and fun!

What a wonderful gift….a real treasure! My middle boy loves dressing up, but having just boys it has always been builders, policeman etc… For Christmas he had a darth vader costume which is pretty cool, but how wonderful to have a bride dress up outfit. I bet your kids were beyond excited!

Until now Carter has had to make do with his sisters clothes, so that pretty much means skirts and dresses, much to his fathers despair.

Oh, how wonderful! Looks like a lot of fun! I wish we could have such a suitcase too! We have carnival here at the moment. All children went in costumes to school today. My son struggled a lot between a knight and a cowboy costume in the morning. The knight has won in the end. 🙂

Carter liked the knight too, but he loves skirts and dresses too!

Oh my goodness… what a fantastic gift! I have a suitcase in the loft which is full of my old bsllet and tap costumes… my children had great fun with it…and now it is waiting (and waiting…and waiting… and waiting…) for grandchildren to arrive! Great idea to do a little case of jewels etc. though… I’m going to start collecting! Have you seen my blog today? :)x

What a lovely gift. My Mam used to being down a box from the attic full of beautiful dresses and petticoats from the 1950s. This post really brings back happy memories.

They look like they’re having the best time ever. My two always used to love dressing up but it is now time to sort through and clear out as they just don’t dress up anymore. 😦 I love the treasure chest full of jewellery – what a great gift for a child! x

What an amazing gift! I remember my Auntie had a huge dressing up trunk when I was wee and we spent many hours putting on plays and having wonderful fun.

My nana used to have a box of jewels (beads and buttons and coins I think) that we loved fishing through and finding treasures in…

What a wonderful gift! I remember my children playing dressup and back to the years when I did it myself. When I was around 6 my mom (we didn’t know it was her) made a special map and planted a treasure chest in the neighbors yard which we had to search out and dig up. Oh what treasures it held and the memories until this day.

My kids are all about treasure right now too, we have had lots of treasure hunts but we might actually have to bury something soon!

What a terrific idea. Hope you won’t mind if I pass it along to other Grandmas. My Grandsons are a bit young for it right now but in another year or so this will be a joint birthday gift!

It would be a fabulous birthday gift, certainly one I’d like my kids to get!

How awesome!!! This is such timing, because I had an entire “art cart” of costume items that I am having to part with this weekend… BUT… I also get to attend a Renaissance Festival the following day so I am thrilled!
