Butterflies and book bags…

Posted on

There’s been quite a bit of sewing at our house.  First up Ive got an appliqued butterfly t-shirt for Maia to show you. I loved making this, butterflies are just such a gorgeous shape!

Butterfly t shirt appliqueI wouldn’t normally dress Maia in black, but I had a hard time finding a plain girl’s t-shirt.  Seems they only come in two colours… black and white. Just like the dino t, Mr Google provided the shape for these (how did we ever do anything before google??)

Butterfly t shirt appliqueNext up a new butterfly book bag.  I brought Maia one at the start of the school year, but it didn’t last long, quickly wearing through on the edges and developing a gaping hole at the bottom. I used the old bag as a template for this one, and followed the same design with the pocket at the bottom for putting pens in.

Book bag Sewed it up with bias binding all around. Super quick. And she loves it!

Off to school we go…

Hope you are having a wonderful week, Jxx

Love all the butterflies! The way you’ve sized and arranged them on the tea-shirt is expecially beautiful.
